South Downs Walk
Jeremy's personal quest was spurred on by the loss of Club stalwart Roy Newman to the disease in early 2007. Many within the Club supported him through sponsorship and assistance in the planning and execution of the walk with all involved with the event having had their lives touched by Cancer in some way. Supported by Elite Teamwear, Southern Self Drive and Economic Insulations, Jeremy and four other walkers set out from Winchester on Monday 4th June for the 100 mile trek. After losing one walker after day two (but gaining another) the team completed their walk on Saturday 15th June with the team crossing the "finishing line" in Eastbourne with a total walking time of 32 hours and 26 minutes for the 100 miles. The walk took Jeremy nine months to plan and he spent six months building himself up physically for the task. And the blister count - a creditable three for the 100 mile walk! In total, Jeremy and the walkers raised a total of £3,636 for Cancer Relief UK which was a superb achievement and well worth the effort everyone put in.
