Its very sad to see Newport
who are bottom of the league and losing nearly every game attract a bigger
crowd then we are. Something needs to be done about advertising the
matches. When I was up in Farnborough nearly every shop and even
Mcdonalds had fixture posters in the windows and they don't need to attract
more people as they get a lot each match. It is not up to the fans to
go out and advertise the Club - its up to the Club itself. I'm not
having a dig at the Club because I love the Club and its ran well and people
work hard, it's just sad to see the stand empty and away teams bringing
nearly as many fans as we do. Up the Boro'.

I have to say Cumbrian that I
think you are wrong. It would be very helpful to the Club - your Club
- if a few more people did just a little more like popping a poster in the
corner shop window for us. If you look on the Farnboorugh website they
have a fixture poster to print which supporters are asked to distribute -
exactly the same as Boro'. Maybe their supporters do actually print
and distribute the posters for their Club.

Maybe I am wrong. I will
try my best to advertise the Club but lets see some effort from the Club as
well and not just the fans.

I am going to fly poster every
single shop window in the precinct. Let's see if that makes a
difference! I did notice after writing a scurrilous poem about the
Gosport Ferry that you didn't post that they are club sponsors. Now a
poster on there for a week with it's thousands of passengers seeing it twice
daily for a week might yield results. As club sponsors they should
give us a preferential rate or maybe even free if any of the board members
come to the GDL.

I mentioned printing posters
off the other day under another heading in the forum, but I'm glad to see it
raised again. I work for a major club sponsor and in order to do a little
to help I spoke to the editor of Gosport Choice and Stubbington Choice (a
free magazine distributed to around 9,000 properties) to put the home
fixtures in the "What's On" section for March and April. I have also asked
them to put the web address in to try and attract more people. Perhaps this
will spur other sponsors to do a little bit as well as a little goes a long
way. By the way, a small bit of advertising down by the Ferry Terminal
would be a great idea - never know if could go next to my firm's advert down
there.
