Having supported Borough for
the last six years, this is the first time I have been angry enough to post
here. Didcot are top of the league and looked a useful side but the
first half performance was woeful. From what I could see there is no
passion, drive or will to win in this present side. The second half
was better but it could not be any worse could it? I never miss a home
game, pay my money and expect players to at least give their all. I
did not see that yesterday. Basic defending skills are lacking and
also leadership on the pitch, which is vital in football. I read Mr
Pike in a recent programme saying he was not bothered by the run of defeats
as they were mostly close games. I am bothered Mr Pike as I pay to see
the team win, not to lose and say we were unlucky etc. For the first
time I am questioning whether to continue paying money to watch absolute
dross. Despite the chairman and his thoughts on booing the team (which
i don't do incidentally), I think as a paying supporter I have a right to
say my piece. With Fleet and Farnborough still to visit Privett, I
dread to think of the scorelines if things don't improve. This is not
a negative post, this is a realistic post and I hope it is taken that way.
Finally playing 4-5-1 to start the game played into the hands of Didcot.
It smells of fear of the opposition by playing only one striker. And
going in 4-0 down at half time says it all. I hope my next post is
more positive but I been have following football for many years and I know
yesterday was a disgrace.

Take your awful keeper out of
the equation and three of the four goals against you wouldn't have been
scored. His enforced change/sending off was a blessing in disguise for
you. With your big lad in goal you were much better and could have
made it 4-4 (or even 5-4) had you taken all your chances in the second half.
Can't see what you are all moaning for in your first season in the Southern.

You must be joking Keith.
You can't be a regular cos that is the best they've played for ages.
You must've missed the Burnham debacle.

Selwyn - I have not missed a
home game all season. I meant playing well for the majority of the
game and not one half. Burnham was bad I agree but we were not 4-0
down at half time. If you think that is the best they have played for ages
and we lose 4-2 then gold help the opposition when we play well and don't
concede a goal.

Well done to Didcot - some
great football. Really enjoyed the fly past by the helicopter at half
time - was this a special occasion? Certainly had value for money with
six goals but Boro' are a poor side. The loss of the bigger players
(coincidentally the bigger wage earners) will undoubtedly have its toll.
Birmy, Radcliffe, Camfield, Scammell, Waterman, Webber - all gone.
Imagine these players in the starting line up.

Never thought I'd be writing
this after watching the first half shambles but well done to the lads for a
gutsy performance in the second half. More like that and we'll be
okay. That's all we want to see. We're not expecting world
beating performances every match just a bit of effort. Also, good to
see Browner back. Hard luck on Max's part. Felt sorry for him as
he walked out of the ground. No one goes out with the intention of
playing badly but when it went wrong, it went really wrong!

Having watched us go 3-0 down
at Fleet and then 4-0 down to Didcot, at both games once we'd conceded these
goals we then went on to play some good football so here's a bit of radical
thinking - lets play the good football before we concede the goals.
Sporting behaviour as it is to allow the opposition to go 4-0 up before we
try and win the game lets try it at 0-0 and see if it affects the outcome of
the match!

Keith - they did lose 4-2 but
look at the fight the lads put on and the fact that they strung together a
few passes (something they haven't done for ages). They actually
threatened the league leaders and like Oppo said (who is obviously a Didcot
fan), we could've won 5-4 if we'd taken our chances. Since Christmas
we've barely had that many shots in total! As for Lionel's missing
players - Birmy is well missed but Waterman, Webber and Radcliffe rarely
performed to their abilities, Scammell can't travel and Parky can get paid
as much in the Wessex and doesn't have to travel to Taunton midweek.
Who can blame him for going to VT.

I did not manage to get to the
game so I can't comment but I'd just like to thank Clayton for filming the
match. Due to work commitments I can't always make it to matches and I
guess it is the same for other fans. It would be good if the Club
could show highlights of matches on the website like other clubs do.
If that is possible. Just an idea.

I missed someone - Gill.
Good player. Would be great if he was still in the lineup.

That was a serious Shed
invasion on Saturday where there was a sea of red. Well done to the
youngsters who started singing for the Boro'. That's the ticket.
We missed Derek's horns though - we were a rattle in the wilderness!
