Farnborough defeat
12/04 Enjoyed the game.  Thought the lads recovered well after conceding a couple of early goals.  Good luck to Farnborough for next season - a great group of supporters.

13/04 This ended up a game we could/should have won.  It shows how much better we have been playing lately and the confidence level of the team.  Two goals we shouldn't have conceded and then we matched them in the later part of the first half and more than matched them second half.  Their first goal came from a free kick we probably didn't need to concede and just before he took it I said to a couple of the Tin Hut boys next to me "look at the gap to Browner's left".  Basically it was all the goal mouth bar the thin bit Browner took up next to his right hand post.  Guess where the ball went?  Just a comment by the way - I wouldn't what people to see it as a negative.  Back to my earlier bit about how we have come on - a couple of months ago after we went 2-0 down I doubt if we would have responded as we did yesterday.  A defeat Vs top of the league in our last home league match of the season and I left still feeling proud of the yellows.  Well done to all at Privett.

14/04 No disrespect mate but we came and did a "job" on your team without ever getting out of second gear.  I'm sure we could have stepped things up if need be so for you to say Gosport could have won is a bit naive.  Definitely one of the better teams we've played and you could be up there challenging next year but the game was over after 12 minutes.  Thanks for your comments Derek - we enjoyed your hospitality!
Borolad
14/04 Agreed was a fine game.  Well done the Boro' boys.

14/04 Has Aaron Wilson left the Club?  Noticed he wasn't even in the squad for Saturday which considering his performances in the team seems strange.
Liam
14/04 Aaron is out for the remainder of the season after he was broken against Windsor the week before.

14/04 I think the scoreline was a fair one.  We were outplayed in the first half but came back well in the second and we must not forget that Farnborough are in a bit of a false position after coming down two divisions.  They are a much bigger club then us.  All the best to Farnborough and well played Boro'.  Great to see a big crowd for once too,  Great atmosphere.

14/04 To Borolad, many of your fans were screaming for the final whistle to go so although it was job done, it would be hard to say it was convincing - especially as you are top of the league.  I always take "we could have stepped it up if we needed to" with a pinch of salt.  Maybe you should have in the second half and saved your fans having to plead with the ref to blow.  Despite that, well done and great support from your lot.  Good luck next season.

14/04 In reply to Scummer having a dig at Browner - the free kick was a yard outside the box.  Browner's job is one half of the goal the walls job is the other but the lad curled it over the wall into the corner and a bit like Hargreaves did against Arsenal.  But I didn't hear anyone blame Lehmann and if it wasn't meant as negative it sounded like it.   First people have a pop at Manna and now Browner!
Ball Boy
14/04 Bit harsh on Browner Scummer.  It was a good free kick - simple.

15/04 Hmmm, we also had what looked a good goal disallowed and hit the woodwork.  People may have been screaming for the final whistle but that has been happening for the last five games - even when we were six up at Andover.  Promotion nerves we call it!  Ref "bigger club than us" - let's not forget we only had six weeks to get a side up in the summer.  We only had two 18 year olds left from the old club!  Other clubs have had years to build their team up (eg Fleet) so we're pretty pleased with how things have gone and how well our crowds have held up.
Borolad
15/04 Your keeper was a liability for the free kick.  I don't know what he's normally like but I didn't think he played very well against us.  Who's this Manna bloke everyone's on about?  If he plays for Newport he cant be much cop!  They are leaking more than the Titanic!

16/04 Be fare to Newport - they did take eight months to sink.  The Titanic did it in a couple of hours!
Boro' Boy
16/04 With two goal line clearances I wouldn't have said that Farnborough won convincingly.  They are a good crowd though and it was nice to see the stadium full of fans chanting "Boro Boro!!"  Good luck to them next season in their new division.

16/04 In reply to Steven Potter you might want to look at your own 'keeper's performance before slating ours.  He dropped most of what went near him and then our goal bounced over him.  Hmmm, who has the dodgy keeper?
Frank
17/04 Thanks for your comments Frank.  Our keeper has played at a very high standard before.  He was steady in this game.  He has been brilliant all season and he plays for Farnborough because he's the best keeper in the best tem in the league.  Unfortunately Mark Brown is average at this level.  I remember him at Havant & Waterlooville.  They shipped him out because he wasn't up to the standard at the time.  He is a good shot stopper but as with many other keepers his all round game isn't good enough to play a higher level.
Steve Potter
17/04 As a regular for 20 years I have never heard of Steven Potter and we don't have a fanzine.  Think you are being wound up!
Borolad
18/04 To be fair, Browner is getting on a bit now (and that's from him) but he has only played 20 odd games this year and if you look at the stats we've done better with him than without.  Steve Potter (whoever you are), you may not be a fan of Browner's but he's done his bit for us over the years and he's a honest lad.  I spoke with him on Tuesday about that free kick that started all of this and he just said if the same free kick comes around against Bracknell he'd do nothing different the Farnborough one.  It was just a good free kick.
George
21/04 Thanks for your comments George, which I respect.  The problem is that Browner has said he would do nothing different and that sums him up.  He is stubborn and naive.  A wise man learns from his mistakes, a wiser man learns from someone else's mistakes but the wisest make no mistakes at all.
