Are we ever going to sign a
decent player because recent ones have been awful except for Chudy.
We need new players but who should we buy?

I have heard Gosport are
looking to sign Fareham youngsters Gary Austin and Dale Field. Striker
and winger respectively.

If you are, you better get
your cheque book out. Both on contract.

Seen both players in action.
They wont be there next season for sure.

There has been a lot of your
management team at Fareham's games lately. Who are they watching?
We have heard it is Gary Austin but has anyone got any news?
Fred |

Gary Austin was one and Dale
Field was the other. My brother is close friends with Pikey and he
feeds me with all information. I think another was Luke Middleton but
it has been revealed that he turned down Andover. I can see Gary and
Dale coming up the road. Watch this space?

We need players from leagues
adjacent or above ours as new signings. Players like Waterman and
Birmingham who played professionally and showed talent. But of course
that needs money. As a matter of interest just how many signings have
we made this year?

As a quick calculation, the
number of new players who have played for the first team and were not at The
Boro' last season is 24 (I think).

What happened to working with
the squad who you pick as first choice? It's like the Gosport
merry-go-round. Coach the team. They are all good players so
work with them.

Says something when Gosport
are looking at Fareham players when in the past not many would have got in
our old Wessex team.

Pikey is often represented at
Fareham games of recent times - we know who you are! Our team is doing
particularly well with limited funding and the players are playing for not
against each other. So hands off any potential recruits and look
elsewhere eh Pikey.

It would be an interesting
game if Gosport played Fareham now. It would be tight as Fareham have
got some great youngsters there at the moment. I heard Splodge's
comments on the Fareham forum and I don't believe the statements from Gary
Austin to be true. If the right deal was offered he will go for sure
as there is no money at Fareham (quote me if I am wrong). What about
Dale Field? I believe he was on the bench last three games (again
quote me if I am wrong). Has there been a bust up? Deals could
happen sooner. Like I said both players are believed to be wanted at
Gosport and if it does not happen I will come on here and say I was wrong.
Another said to be interesting Mr Pike is Moneyfields' Glen Knight. It
is a shame Birmy has gone and Waterman too - both great players.

Reading the Sports Mail on
Saturday, a good article about Horndean and how they don't even pay expenses
but are still doing well. How about getting Karl Lis and Matt Parr
into work with Alex and bring in the best local players. Maybe the way
forward now.

Just to let you know Dale
Field is just coming back from injury that why he is not playing at the mo -
no bust up. And is there a right deal at your Club? How many more
players can your Club afford to sign?
Fred |
|

Fareham Boy - you will never
get promoted so why shouldn't we pick the cream? After all, if the
boys want to better themselves why not come to The Boro'?

Must also remember that Mike
Benfield is Gary Austin's stepdad and as I've said before he's on contract
and from what I understand that contract does not expire at the end of this
season. So get your cheque book out. If a Havant & Waterlooville
defender who Eastleigh are after is worth £15k then we wont accept less than
£100,000k.

No point wasting everyone's
time with pure speculation Gerry P. Both players are happy playing at
Fareham. The team spirit holds everyone together up the road - not
just merely playing for money like they seem to at Privett.

It is not speculation its only
what I have been told. The two players from Fareham that Gosport want
will almost certainly be signing for Gosport next season. Fareham are
a good young side and next season players (thank you "smells like creek")
will want to better themselves. So if a big offer comes in for the
players will they say no? I doubt it.
Gerry P |

Dale Field is a player with
potential but is not a regular starter at Fareham. Other players are
in front of him because of ability.

How can you say these players
will almost be signing for Gosport next season? Has any one asked these
players if they are interested? No they have not and I'm sure your
club can't afford a big offer with your wage bill as it is.
Fred |
|
13/02 |
If that previous statement was
true then why is he on contract with Gary Austin? Is anyone else on
contract at Fareham? I would like to know cos Splodge said they both
were.
Gerry P |
|
14/02 |
I think that there are about
five players on contacts. I know that Gary and Dale are.
Fred |
|
14/02 |
What previous statement are
you referring to? The one about Dale Field being a non regular
starter? If you must know he's had a long term injury problem since
his Moneyfields days which has only recently been correctly diagnosed so his
fitness levels are not up to what they should be. If you are on about
players bettering themselves- that's fine except Pikey's forever complaining
in the local press about players not wanting to move up to the Southern
League, so if that's the case (as Pikey's mentioned time and time again this
season) why are Field and Austin any different to the rest of them?
Yes there are more players on contract at Cams, but I can't remember off the
top of my head who they are. I'd imagine it'd be our longer serving
players but I could be wrong. Going back to Dale Field, he was playing
for the reserves last night to help regain some match sharpness and made it
perfectly clear in the bar afterwards where his future lies and believe you
me, its not wearing the yellow and blue of Gosport. We know you're
struggling and Pikey seems to have exhausted his list of players who'll play
for him in the Bournemouth/Poole area and is acting like a man drowning
flapping about in the sea looking for a life raft to save him trying to sign
player A or then sign player B. Unfortunately and its only my view - I
think he upset too many players, not necessarily just in his time at Gosport
but throughout his management career and those players he wants to sign are
speaking to those who've previously played under him and they've told them
to avoid him. My football career may have peaked at the Essex U9s
schools cup final but after 30 years plus watching non-league football I
know that players just want to know that they are wanted and play.
When you appear to make changes for changes sake then you start having the
problems I think you are facing now. You're not going to go up or down
this season, so can I also make a bold suggestion...you don't try to sign
anyone else this season and work with what you've got. It worked for
us after our shocking start to the season. The lads have just knuckled
down to the task in hand and have put in some impressive performances to
perform far far above what my pre-season expectations of them were.
Yes there's been the odd blip along the way but we've learnt from those
mistakes and rectified them using the knowledge gained along the way for
what would be a highly credible finishing position of fifth (if one of those
above us fall apart) to seventh. If someone had said that to me
pre-season I'd never have believed them.

Like I have said before we
will see what really happens. I have only come on here to express my
views and tell you some inside info. What I have said before is true
and my brother and I would be surprised if the deals don't go through.
And as for booing the side off pitch, sorry but that will get Gosport far!
