Ryan Woodford - what do people
think? My opinion is he is no better than what we have.
GBFC |

How can you say that before
we've seen him kick a ball? With all due respect to Ryan, I had never
heard of him before Pikey gave me the info so I think we should reserve
judgement until he's played a few games.

Ryan has has numerous clubs
and he couldn't even get in the Christchurch side last year!

GBFC - It is unbelievable to
see a message like that. How can you be so negative? Lets give the
team and the management a summer free of stupid comments. If things
are not going well when the season starts then it is fair to be critical.

If he is as good as we have
got, he will do for us. We need a squad of 20 and at present we have
only got 15 signed on. Last year when we had key players out we
struggled so welcome Ryan. He has a good CV.

Binned by Andover and Newport

I suggest we extend a warm
welcome to this lad and let's see him when he starts hoofing a ball about.
We have done well with Eastleigh players before!.

Couldn't see Mr Frampton's
name on the list. What is the keeper situation for next season?

How good is the news that both
Birmingham's will be strutting their stuff at Privett? I'm sure I'm
not alone when I say that Dave will be welcomed straight back with a huge
smile and Michael will be welcomed by all with open arms. Let's hope
that this is the season where Gosport bring in the crowds to show they have
the ambition and drive.

Great to see Birmy back.
He was our best player before he left and I'm sure he will be again.

We are lucky to have a manager
who is obviously working hard this summer to add to the small squad we
finished the season with. It's also great to be able to be informed of
what is going on in the close season although if the negative postings keep
appearing, I doubt we will be told anything!

Got to say what fantastic
signings. My only fear is how AP will keep everyone happy!.

Good to see that the Club have
signed Dave and Michael. Hopefully now our back four will be strong
and we can keep certain players we have. Hopefully Gavin Jones, Josh
Thomas, Glenn Howes, Justin Bennett and Fordy will all be playing next year!
They are all our stronger players who are prepared to do the work. Up
The Borough for next season.

I agree with most above. The
lads played well together once they settled down but you cannot comment on
someone when they have not kicked a ball yet at Privett. Lets try and get
behind the team and management rather than knock. We need more people
through the gate and negative comments will only keep people away -
especially newcomers to Privett. Well done Pikey, obviously rubbing
shoulders with Harry over at Fratton has rubbed off on you and picking up
out of contract players. Good luck for the new season.

Re: Ryan Woodford - a decent
young player (never given a proper chance at Andover). You should
remember him - he was Andover's best player when we played you at home last
season.

Is there still no news as to
if Glenn Howes is going to re-sign for us?

What a great signing Liam is
for the club. With all his league experience and the fact he is young
and local, bodes well for the Club. We wish him well and hope he
enjoys his time at The Boro'. Pikey has been busy in the summer.
Really looking forward to the friendlies starting now. Bored with all
this shopping.

I think we have gem in Liam
Horsted. I remember him from Pompey reserves and Paulsgrove last
season. When he was a youngster he scored hundreds of goals for
Sevenoaks Youth. A real talent.

Now Pikey is signing players
that will excite the fans. Wingers that will knock the ball past
people and get to the bye-line to serve up the ammo for the forwards,
Players that will roll their sleeves up on a bleak November evening and get
The Boro' three points. Top three finish this year!

Yes Liam is a great signing
for Boro' but Louis Bell couldn't get into Fareham's team. I don't
understand that one.

If Mr Pike is friends with Mr
Redknapp, is there any chance of maybe taking a few of Pompey's youth or
reserves over here on loans. It will be good for The Boro' and give
Pompey a chance to see if their youth players can handle the physical nature
of the senior game. It would benefit their development to play
competitive games at a senior level rather than friendlies at youth level.

"Also signing for Pike is
former Fareham Town favourite Louis Bell." Hardly a "favourite" at
Cams!

Pikey, Pikey, Pikey. What
a great signing Liam is. He will be your best player by far. All
us Paulsgrovers now have a reason to come to Privett Park.

What a good signing Liam could
be. I watched him a few times but Louis Bell - I'm not so sure he's a
goal scorer but I hope to be proved wrong.

Will like to see if Horsted
will able to cut the physical side. He's known to go missing when the
going gets tough. A bit of a primadonna also. Chudy is a far
better wide man. Where will Ryan Woodford play for Gosport and Louis
Bell? Surely not going to get in ahead of Lynch and Bennett?

Considering I've been a
lifelong supporter of Pompey, Boro' and Dunfermline, Horsted's signing is a
dream come true.
Bridgemary Kiss |

Pompey ex what are you on
about? You're talking about a player who has played in the Scottish
Premier League in front of 40,000 people and your comparing him to Lee Chudy?
Be serious! Lee's a good player but this is a no brainer. He's
had a lot of injuries but lets hope he helps takes Boro' to the next level.

Why is he still not there
then? That was about two years ago. Who has he played for since?
Privett Boy |

Don't you just love the way
some of our fans wish to write a player off before they've even kicked a
ball for us? Pikey spends ages chatting up players and convincing them
Gosport is the place to come to. Comments such as those from Privett
Boy and Pompey ex undermine his ability to "sell" Gosport Borough to new
players. Why don't we see what Liam and co are like in the friendlies
before passing judgement?

Played with Liam a couple of
weeks ago in a charity game over Fratton. Believe me he's a decent
player.
Thommo |
|

If Thommo says he's good then
that's good enough for me. I respect his judgement as a player.
Bring on the friendlies.

Trust me, Lee Chudy is more
than capable of making this Liam lad look like his apprentice. I've no
doubt Liam is decent but Chudy is undoubtedly more cultured and experienced
in this league. It will be an exciting season for Gosport and I fully
believe Lee Chudy will be a massive part of that.

The Site Manager is right - we
shouldn't knock any new players until we have seen them playa few times.
If they aren't good enough, then we have a reason to moan.
