Pitch condition |

There was a midweek game
scheduled for the youth team against Winchester on Thursday 31st but it was
cancelled due to the waterlogged pitch so why were the first team training
on it on the same night?

Having just spoken to Pikey he
tells me the team did not train on the pitch last night but used the outside
pitch behind the "cemetery end" goal. The main lights were on for a
time while they took a good look at the pitch.

I thought this was obvious -
this is because the first team are more important than anyone else.
Come on Confused Fan - wake up and smell the coffee.

Sorry they did train on the
main pitch I'm afraid to say. They seem to train on it most Thursdays.

We played 5-a-side on the
pitch in front of the dugouts last night after our warm up on the outside
pitch.

Would Pikey be interested in
signing the ghostly figures I saw playing on the pitch as I viewed from the
Club House? Or is a full training session with a ball now technically
called 'having a good look at the pitch'.

Yeh good plan - damage the
pitch the public can use! Does the Club pay to hire the outdoor pitch
to train on?

I'm not being funny but the
pitch is for the first team first and foremost anyway. I think the
Club allow too many other games on the pitch as it is.

I cannot believe that you are
even having a discussion on the state of the pitch at Privett Park! It is
obvious when a simple pass to a team mate bobbles about until said ball is
eventually sliced into touch! When Gosport allow substitute players and
young supporters to kick into the goals at half time then surely you guys
must know you are not going to get a surface that encourages a passing
game. Hardly a professional attitude. Are Gosport Borough trying to
progress or are you just there to see how things might work out?
Whatever, I wish you well and would like to see Gosport push for promotion
next season (under Alex Pike?).

Agree with Frustrated Forward
re subs at half time. They tend to just muck about. Anyone of
them could be needed seconds into the second half. Shouldn't they be in the
dressing room hearing the managers team/tactics talk in readiness. If
they need to come on, they can always tick over for a few minutes before
re-start. Lets face it, you can warm up/stretches etc in the dressing
room and hear the manager at the same time. Basic stuff to me - not
whacking balls out of the ground.

Surely the subs should be in
listening to the managers team talk? I have to say I agree but this is
standard practice (subs playing shoot at the goal) at almost every level of
football at half time.
