Gosport got themselves back on track with a good performance over Taunton Town.
With manager Alex Pike delayed, Mick Catlin again took control of the side and within 60 seconds his side almost took the lead but Justin Bennett's shot slipped just wide.
Taunton went on the offensive and very nearly had the opener themselves when Ryan Pryce spilled the ball into the path of Veal but his goal was ruled out for offside.
With the visitors offering little in the way of threats, it was Gosport who looked the more likely to score but despite chances, at half time the game was still goalless.
Pike's arrival back from Heathrow was greeted by his side taking a deserved lead that was immediately doubled within two minutes.
James Ford's corner was met by the ducking Bennett at the near post to give Boro' the lead and then Bennett added his and Boro's second when Ford again provided the ball for the striker to volley past Astley.
Bennett was then denied by Astley's save as the striker went after his third before it was the turn of Pryce to keep out Taunton's Blake.
