Boro' to host Conference South Braintree
Published: 5 November 2007

Boro's reward for beating Met Police in the Trophy is a home tie against Conference South opponents Braintree Town.

The Essex side, most known in the area for their hate/hate meetings with Havant & Waterlooville, are currently just below mid-table in the Conference South and have recently appointed Lee Patterson first team manager after George Borg was sacked in October.

The tie will be played at The GDL on Saturday 24th November and replaces the scheduled home game with Thatcham Town.

Draw for BGB S&W sides:
Gosport Borough v Braintree Town, Gloucester City or Hillingdon Borough v Uxbridge, Windsor & Eton v Newport County, Tonbridge Angels v Burnham, Abingdon United or Maidstone v Canvey Island

Other local ties:
Eastleigh v Weston Super Mare, Bognor Regis Town v Havant & Waterlooville

  • Boro's home league game with Abingdon United, scheduled for Tuesday 13th November, had been put back to Tuesday 11th December as The U's are in Berks & Bucks Senior Cup action next week.
