Work starts on new stand

Work on the long awaited Harry Mizen stand is underway as trenching work has begun to move the floodlight pylons.

Contractors have started work on moving the two pylons that would be immediately in front of the new stand so that supporters have an uninterrupted view of the game.

Once moved, a concrete pad will be laid and the metalwork that will form the new stand will be erected before the final fitting out is completed.  It is expected the work on the £170,000 scheme will be completed by mid-September.

Elsewhere, contractors are also due to start work on building four new turnstiles - replacing the existing pair at the southern end of the ground and installing a new entrance on the eastern side of the ground.

In addition, the tea bar has vacated the old scout hut (which will now be used as a base for the Sports Development courses) and has moved in to the former club shop building.  A new portacabin has been provided for the club shop.
