Development Centre ready for big kick-off

Gosport Borough's new Development Centre is just weeks away from opening its doors to young talented footballers and coaches who wish to succeed in the sport.

The Centre, run from Privett Park in conjunction with Gosport Pro-Active Sports Training Ltd will offer educational coaching and apprenticeship schemes for 16 to 19 year olds.

Students can enrol for NVQs in coaching and sports development which will enable the apprentices to gain an industry led qualification, working with schools, clubs and within the community whilst getting paid.

In addition to their academic studies, the students will also receive two hours of coaching a day from FA Level 3 coaches and will play for the Development Centre in the English Colleges FA League on Wednesday afternoons.  In addition, there will be opportunities for the students to play for youth and reserve teams in the area.

The Development Centre is also able to offer traineeships in BTEC Level 2 Sports Diplomas, BTEC Level 3 Performance & Excellence in Sport and Level 3 Sports Science.
