Match report: U10s 'A' v Wimbledon Park Tigers
Published: 1 April 2008

Maybe it was the clocks going forward as Boro' seemed to be half asleep at the start of their last game of the season.

Wimbledon Park Tigers (WPT) started the game intent on putting pressure on The Boro' defence.  They could have been one goal up within five minutes only to be denied by the post.

Boro' finally seemed to come alive and put pressure on the WPT goal with plenty of shots going wide or high but they did make the breakthrough on 21 minutes with Luke Callen netting for Boro' after some excellent passing football.

Several changes were made at half-time and it took a while for Boro' to settle into their game.

WPT were judged to have handled the ball in the area and Dan Podolski took the  resulting penalty only to see it saved by the WPT goakeeper Ludo Gardner.  However the referee had seen an encroachment by a WPT player before the spot kick was taken and instructed the penalty to be taken again.  Dan stepped up but the WPT goalie saved again.

WPT's pressure finally paid off and they equalised 16 minutes into the second half.

Final score  Gosport Borough 1-1 Wimbledon Park Tigers

Man of the match: Dan Podolski
