Purbrook got off well and showed why they had beat some top teams this season.  Their midfield dominated the first part of the game and had Boro' on the back foot.

Boro' keeper Zach Robinson made a couple of crucial early saves when left with one on one situations.  Gosport then found their stride with the midfield trio of Matthew Boudier, Owen Cripps and Rhys Walmsley taking control of the game.  On several occasions the ball was fed out to the wingers who then crossed into the Purbrook box to get some fantastic saves from the Purbrook keeper.

The deadlock was broken when Rhys Walmsley got the ball down the right wing to find Matthew Boudier running in on the far post to slot in his first.

Matthew grabbed his second when a similar play found Owen Cripps who played the ball through two defenders for Matthew to slot home.

Purbrook pushed back hard but the Boro' defence of Jamie Winter and first half man of the match Matthew Pritchard held fast to the end of the first half.

The half saw two changes with Ben Duffin replacing Owen Cripps in the centre of midfield and Mia Hewitt replace Matthew Pritchard in defence.

Purbrook came straight at The Boro' in the second half and were rewarded with a goal after a goalmouth scramble resulting from a corner found the ball pushed in at the far post.

From the restart Ben Duffin played Matthew Boudier through who scored his first hat-trick for The Boro'.

Gosport then capitalised with Purbrook pushing further up the field they got caught on the counter only to be thwarted by some great goalkeeping by the Purbrook keeper.

With minutes to go Rhys Walmsley made another great run down the wing to cross in for second half man of the match Ben Duffin to get Boro’s fourth.

After 32 league and friendly games played this season by the U8 Reds this was their best performance for work rate and team work.
