Match report: U11s 'A' v Jubilee 77 What a fantastic game for The Boro' to play in. Two weeks ago we lost at home to a determined Jubilee side 3-6 but today was their last game of the season so I prepared the team for a tough battle. The Boro' though rose to the challenge. We went at them straight from the whistle forcing the opposition to camp in their own half and it was only time before their defence cracked. We forced a corner which Liam Phillips despatched with the accuracy of a professional straight into the six yard box - a bit of pinball football - and then Jamie Bialas shot and scored for his tenth of the season. Five minutes later and another corner, equally accurate as the first, more pinball and then centre half Ross Edwards chipped the keeper from 15 yards out. After twenty minutes Liam broke down the left taking on two players then crossed and our trusty one yard wonder striker Ryan Golding struck on the volley. Two minutes from half time and Liam took the ball from left back Dan O'Reilly and just danced with the ball doing a reverse drag-back to get round one then sold a dummy to another back to the first defender again and once more around him then struck the ball from twenty five yards out to the top corner. Second half we went at them again knowing they had the wind we had to be stronger. Ellie Harrington broke down the right; she then crossed the ball in for Frankie Rudland to do his magic with Struck with his left foot, bottom corner. Quickly after came the sixth. Again Liam broke down the left, this time taking the ball into the area and struck to the far corner of the goal this was his second and his sixteenth of the season. The seventh came after about fifteen minutes with a great build up play from the team which ended with a wonder strike from Luke Huntington just inside the area. The eighth came after Liam broke down the left again took on two players beating them struck to far corner, the ball hit the far post rebounded along the line hit the other upright just as Ryan was running in and guided the ball over for his second and thirteenth of the season. The game was marred by the sending off of one of the Jubilee players for a second bookable offence. The significance of the game also meant that The Boro' has guaranteed B Division football for next season.
