Match report: U8s 'red' v East Lodge
'blue' With the early morning kick off on Mother's Day. both teams struggled to get into the game until the tenth minute. With great midfield pressure coming from Matthew Boudier he was able to find an open Rhys Walmsley. Rhys then fired an unstoppable goal into the top of the goal for Boro' to go one up. East Lodge then took the advantage and where unlucky when Boro' defender Jamie Winter cleared of the line. With the increased pressure from East Lodge, they grabbed a well deserved equaliser with a fine shot coming off the inside post to bring the game equal at one all. Boro's first half defence of Jamie Winter and first half man of the match Daniel Toon kept their cool and blocked many of the East Lodge runs but again Boro' midfielder Jack Gillen found a unmarked Rhys Walmsley to fire his second of the game. Just before the end of the half, East Lodge grabbed the equaliser when a goal mouth scramble allowed them to score there second to end the half 2-2. The second half saw three substitutions with Ben Duffin replacing Jack Gillen in midfield, Owen Cripps replaced Matthew Boudier in the midfield and Matthew Pritchard replace Daniel Toon in defence. This proved the turning point for Boro' as the midfield took hold of the game. Second half man of the match Owen Cripps proved a problem on the left wing and crossed a great ball for Ben Duffin to get Boro's third. East Lodge grabbed their third from the kick off when a fine run saw a shot go in off the post. Matthew Boudier replaced Rhys Walmsley in the Boro' midfield and grabbed the winner for Boro' from a Jamie Winter corner. Final score Gosport Borough 4 East Lodge 3 East Lodge's manager awarded Jamie Winter manager's man of the match. |
