Match report: U8s 'blue' v East
Lodge 'red An early start on Sunday with the sun shining, and The Boro' fired up against a strong East Lodge 'red' side. In the first half of the season they beat us 5-4 so revenge was the plan. Things didn't go to plan straight away with Lodge getting an early lead with a superb goal that the keeper could do nothing about. After this upset, The Boro' kept their heads up and played the ball around the pitch - barely letting Lodge get a touch. With a strong defence of Ryan Llewelyn and Harry Strowger keeping the goalie safe as house's, Iwan Crofts and Sam Vials played magnificent in the midfield, passing the ball from end to end and side to side, baffling Lodge. Feeding the ball to our ever strong striker Drew Warner, who had shot after shot - all denied. But not Sam’s shots. Sam back on top form fired in a brilliant hattrick followed by a Drew special again! A lapse in defence in the second half saw East Lodge scrape a lucky goal and for the rest of the half a strong performance from Chelsie Hay kept the rest of play away from the keeper in our defence - helped by Thomas Smith. Ethan Brady found his top form again in the second half, taking the ball around the Lodge midfield and taking chances at the goal. Jake Grant, as ever, done us proud again in nets so when Lodge did fire something at him, safe hands and a big left boot sent it back in our favour. A great game played in a
great atmosphere again! |
