Match report: U10s 'A' v AFC
Portchester 'A'
Both teams seemed determined
to keep warm by playing end to end football. Boro's Dan Podolski had a
shot on two minutes which went wide but it was AFC Portchester who opened
the scoring on seven minutes following the first corner of the game.
AFC Portchester had another corner on 12 minutes which was blocked by Kieran Dowell. The resulting corner was put over the bar by AFC Portchester and Boro' had kept the score at 1-0. Most of the game was then played in midfield with Kieran Dowell and Stan Osborne linking up well with some great passing. It took an excellent tackle by AFC Portchester to break down the move. Dan Podolski worked hard covering nearly every blade of grass on the pitch. Shay Brynes and Luke Callen both had chances but were unable to score and AFC Portchester scored their second on 20 minutes. There followed sustained pressure from Boro'. A corner on 20 minutes was tipped over by AFC Portchester's keeper and the resulting corner was put over the cross bar by defender Callum Ransley. Kieran Cole was unlucky with a shot going wide after coming on as a sub. Into the second half and Stan Osborne made some good runs down the right crossing into the box but Boro' were unable to capitalise. Dan Podolski scored on 32 minutes from the kick off following AFC Portchester's third. Boro' were awarded a free kick which was superbly taken by Kieran Cole and needed an excellent hand from AFC Portchester's keeper to keep it out. Taylor Walker made some great passes after coming on and had a couple of shots on goal. Callum Ransley made some well timed tackles to stop an AFC Portchester moves and Boro's goalie Alex Gill (AJ) made an excellent save on 48 minutes to stop AFC Portchester scoring again.
