Match report: U15s v Waterlooville
Boys For the second week running it was honors even between 'Ville Boys and Borough youth. Incredibly Waterlooville again equalised in the dying minutes of an excellent game. Despite opening the scoring with a well taken close finish goal Waterlooville came under increasing pressure from the visitors. Borough playing some of their best football this season began to string together some superb passing moves two of which resulted in goals. The first, a move that would grace any team, started from man of the match Louis Johnson deep in his own half. Playing a cross field ball to Kyle Liang, who fed under pressure to the excellent Jon Start, who in turn slipped the ball wide to the powerful James Shreves. Shreves' precision pass along the line found Tom Copeland who skipped past the last defender and crossed for Zac Woods to strike a brilliant first time finish. The second, from the clever Tom Snell involved almost as many Borough players in quick, accurate passing. After the break 'Ville equalised with a superbly struck free kick from all of 35 yards hitting the roof of the net. Gosport though continued to play their best football and only the superb defending from a very strong Waterlooville back four and some near misses kept them in the game. However the brilliant Tom Copeland finished a fine move with a well struck powerful shot to put Borough ahead again. The game continued to flow from end to end with Borough goalie Harry Kelly pulling off three one on one saves. The excellent Josh Stirling for Borough came close with a late free kick but with the dynamic and strong midfielder Jordan Sullivan off the field injured Waterlooville pressed home the advantage with a clever lob over Boroughs stranded 'keeper to get their second late draw in a row. Final score: Waterlooville Boys 3 Gosport Borough 3
