Boro' travel away to Chesham United for their second away match of the season.

Shaun Gale’s team are looking for their first three points on the road with a trip away to Chesham United on Saturday August 20th.

‘The Generals’ have started their 2022/23 campaign with a mixed bag of results accruing 4 points from a victory over Hartley Wintney, a draw away at Plymouth and a most recent loss at Hanwell Town.

Boro’s away win-record remains blank, but two victories from two games on home turf fill the team with much needed confidence ahead of the clash in Buckinghamshire. Manager Shaun Gale adds that “we’ll have to be at our best to get a result.”

“It’s a really tough place to go. We know that. It will be a tough game.

“We’re going there early in the season so the pitch is going to be a lot better than usual, but last season it was quite bobbly and hard. Obviously we haven’t had a lot of rain either.

“The performance the other night was good and we were pleased with how we played, but this is a completely different game. The mindset and the way we approach the game will be different because it’s away from home.

Gale is still struggling with several of his key players on the sidelines with injury, including Andreas Robinson, Bradley Tarbuck and Kyal Williams. The congestion of added mid-week games can often spawn additional fatigue amongst the squad, but luckily there are positives coming out of the Boro’ medical room.

“Everyone’s okay and everyone’s come through from the other night. Andreas Robinson has had more time training, and we’re getting closer with Bradley Tarbuck and Kyal Williams.

“Hopefully within the next week or so we’re going to have a few more players back and available to us which will help us immensely.
