Glenn Howes Departs The BORO’

Gosport Borough Football Club wishes to confirm that Glenn Howes first team manager, has left the club by mutual consent.

As a result of recent discussions of a genuinely amicable nature it was decided that Glenn would step down from his current position and responsibilities with immediate effect. The board would appropriately wish to thank Glenn for his unwavering commitment and professionalism since his return to the club he served with distinction as a player from 2007 and 2009.

Glenn’s tenure whilst curtailed in length nevertheless brought stability and focus and for the most part this season maintaining a credible challenge in and around the play off zone until an unfortunate and dramatic run of results of late impacted on that achievement and ambition.

Whilst Glenn departs from our club he courteously handed over the reigns to the capable hands of Mark Summerhill and Zak Sharp who have worked closely as his coaching staff all season who in turn will call upon the tried and tested experience of Joe Oastler currently balancing his Academy Lead coach role at Eastleigh FC with playing here at the Boro’

In true Boro’ tradition I’m sure they can rely upon the outstanding support of everybody involved and vitally you the supporters to motivate the players to an uplifting end of season.

Chairman Iain McInnes added personally that "Glenn has been a notable character in Boro’s history and is proud to have been so, in turn I’m sure I speak for all of us in recording our mutual respect of that accord. Whilst there is palpable regret all around in Glenn’s departure his record historically and no doubt in the future will undoubtedly reflect his character and dedication to football which is Premier League by any measurement. It has been to my benefit to work alongside him as a man and a colleague."

We wish Glenn his family and friends everything they wish for themselves, and it’s no empty appeal when we extend every courtesy and expectation of their future company here at the AEI.
