Gosport Borough 0 - 2 Walton & Hersham

Report by James McIntosh - Cover Picture by Jack Aldridge

Swans’ sail past Gosport in comfortable 2-0 win.

With an interim management trio taking control of Gosport for the last four games since the departure of Pat & Joe, it was confirmed player Danny Hollands would be taking charge of the BORO’ on a permanent basis.

The new manager would have been impressed with what he saw within the first thirty minutes. BORO’ retaining most of the possession but unable to convert that into shots. Jamar Smith came the closest when his shot from distance ran straight down the throat of Barker.

Walton & Hersham did have an excellent chance to break the deadlock two minutes before the break. Johl Powell and Ralph Vigrass forming a dynamic duo and a great ball from the latter played Powell through on goal. With a powerful shot it forced a great save from Parkes as the deflection diverted just wide of the post.

Continuing this form after the break it took the Swans’ just five minutes into the second interval to grab the lead. Experienced striker, Dawid Rogalski shielded the ball from the Gosport defence before sliding a ball through into Powell; cooly slotting past Parkes to take the advantage. 0 - 1

Ralph Vigrass the danger-man who caused a lot of havoc in the first half continued being destructive. Cutting inside of Morrison inside the hosts’ box allowed the winger to go for goal, blazing over from close-range.

Gosport’s latest signing Nnandi Nawachuku nearly made an instant impact after coming on when the former Basingstoke man drove a low-driven just a whisker wide!

In the end the visitors’ finished off the contest in the third minute of added time. Goalscorer Johl Powell won possession from Yearwood before launching a counter. It resulted with the Walton man burying a ball into the far corner to seal the three points for the Swans.
Final Score 0 - 2
