Boro’ suffer late defeat after two added-time goals.

Shaun Gale’s side started the afternoon on the front foot and set to dictate the match from the get-go. Bradley Tarbuck took an early chance in the 3rd minute when he found space just outside of the area and tested the keeper to a shot on target.

Abdulai Baggie followed suit shortly after, trying a finesse shot from outside of the box. Once again testing Constable in goal, and forcing the keeper to parry over the bar.

The winger then set up Dan Wooden with a cushioned cross into the box however, the no.9 couldn’t get down low enough to reach for a header, and the late-arriving Busari at the back-post couldn’t steer it into the net.

The hosts kicked into gear when Tobias Little took a shot on the left side and hit the side-netting however, it was Shaun Gale’s side who opened the scoring for the first time in the last 5 league matches. In the 23rd minute Dan Wooden was taken down in the box after fighting to reach Harry Kavanagh’s ball into the box. The referee awarded a spot-kick, and Billie Busari gave Boro’ the lead after slotting the ball neatly into the bottom right corner.

The hosts enjoyed two chances in quick succession in the 30th minute. Firstly, Sam Granville drilled a low ball into the box, but Oliver McCoy couldn't reach it to tap into the net. The chance was shortly followed by a fast cross into the box by Oliver Sprague from the opposite flank, but the host's forward headed over the bar.

In another attempt, Patrick O’Flaherty was tested by Nathan Minhas as the host's no. 9 took a shot from outside of the box forcing the 'keeper into action.

The Boro’ lead was made more comfortable seconds before the half-time whistle, when Dan Wooden squared the ball across goal to put it on a plate for the oncoming Busari. The youngster tapped in his second goal of the game to give Gosport send Gale’s team into the dressing room two-nil up.

The hosts started the second half with intent. Nathan Minhas was allowed space on the right side of the penalty area and slotted the ball at the near post past O’Flaherty to pull one back and put The Rams back into the contest with almost a whole half of football left to play.

Gale’s team tried to reply in quick fashion when a clearance from a Beaconsfield corner allowed them to break on the counter. Harry Jewitt-White and Dan Wooden were found in a 2v1 situation in the opponent’s half, but the Pompey loanee’s pass had too much on it for Wooden to control in front of goal and take a comfortable shot.

The hosts brought more urgency out with them in the second half, but Gale’s team were able to keep The Rams out. Patrick O’Flaherty was brought into action once again in the 76th minute when goalscorer Nathan Minhas took a low shot calling the keeper into action.

Moments later, Beaconsfield once again created danger in the Boro' penalty area with several deflected shots. The referee dismissed the host's shouts for a hand-ball and pointed to a corner-kick.

The back-end of the second half saw the introductions of Tommy Higgs, Fin Walsh-Smith and Kyal Williams, in replacement for Dan Wooden, Issiaga Kaba, and Abdulai Baggie respectively.

The hosts knocking on the door paid off in added time, when a deflected shot in the box landed at the feet of second-half substitute Callum Webb, who drilled the ball into the net past O’Flaherty to equalise for the hosts.

A late 95th minute free-kick form Rory Williams flew over the players in the box and resulted in a goal kick. The goalkeeper booted the ball upfield with urgency. The ball landed at the feet of Nathan Minhas - with Patrick O’Flaherty coming off his line, the Beaconsfield forward lobbed the ball over the ‘keeper and sent the hosts into the lead with the dying kick of the game.
