Next Sunday the 8th May is a date for everyone’s diary, as Football Legends, Family, Friends and Supporters come together for the first major fund raising event to be held at Gosport Borough Football Club in aid of Sophie’s Legacy, as we remember a remarkable young girl from Stubbington who sadly lost her own battle against cancer last September surrounded by her loving family.

Sophie’s Legacy is a charity set up to continue Sophie’s remarkable work in raising the awareness of children’s cancer, whilst offering immediate help for families in hospital.

Tickets for next Sunday’s fun event and charity football game are selling like hot cakes, and the day is shaping up to be an amazing occasion where our local community can come together and show their support for one brave warrior who continues to work her magic!

A team of Pompey Legends, including Alan Knight, Paul Walsh and Bret Pitman as well as our very own Shaun Gale, will take on a team of Sophie’s All Stars and compete for a winners cup, which will be presented to the winning team by Special Guest and Supporter, ex England, Manchester United & Bayern Munich’s Owen Hargreaves.

In addition to the game, there will be fun attractions for all the family and an array of food & drink options to help everyone enjoy the day.
