Our First Team rightfully got back to winning ways this week despite suffering with an injury hit squad. Jodie Goodall took one for the team today and went in goal and Rach Wilson returned to help us all out.
We had our U7 Lillies girls team down as mascots today and safe to say they had the best time! Not only getting to have a kick a bout they also got to walk the first team out onto the pitch and then stayed to cheer us on! Thank you to Paul Taylor and the team for coming down today!
The first team got off to a good start and created plenty of chances, finally one of the through balls came good and Emma Glover was able to feed Zoe Bache through who finished brilliantly to give us the lead. The conditions were incredibly hot for October and started to take its toll, safe to say we made hard work of it at times but we got ourselves into HT with a 1-0 lead. Thankfully plenty of substitution's enabled us to keep fresh legs on the pitch and it was certainly needed. We continued to create plenty of chances and hit the woodwork about 4/5 times! A brilliant long range effort from Rach Wilson gave us a 2-0 lead that we very much deserved! We should have had the game settled and put to bed however, but a fantastic finish by Winchester got them right back in the game and meant we had to really dig deep for the final 15mins. Safe to say the team did that and more, putting everything on the line and fighting till the very end and deservedly got the win.

The girls gave 100% effort, commitment and determination out on that pitch a much deserved win! Despite many injuries, everyone stepped up and played whereever they needed to, literally putting bodies on the line when needed! A shout out to the lillies and all those supporting us, what a crowd to come home too.

Zoe Bache- Absolutely on fire this season and a lot of defences struggle to cope! Another deserved goal but more importantly her work rate was phenomenal chasing down everything despite being up top on her own!

Our reserves got another brilliant win and bring back all three points from cowplain!
Where do I start with our reserves today, we got a goal within the first couple of minutes of kick off by our wonderful Sarah Green. After that the game play was very slow and we had a lot of panic passing at times. The first half ended 1-0. By the second half we found ourselves again and everyone pulled their socks up and put an absolute shift in despite the heat today! Goals came from Tilly, Maisie Dalton, Alise Holt, Shannon Purcifer and Orla Marie. Cowplain came back near the end of the game and scored leaving the final result 8-1 to Boro. Well done to all the ladies for pushing through and thank you to the lovely cowplain for a well battled game!

Meanwhile our development suffer an unfortunate defeat but battled tremendously. They played their socks off against NMO who are second in the league. Gosport look ten times the side they did when the league started but are still looking for that first league win. The ladies are getting more competitive and confident with every game and forward play this week was much stronger. NMO took an early lead and it stayed 0-1 for most of the first half. Saffron Hiscock had a chance to bring this back to level, when she hit the frame of the goal with a volley from a tight angle. NMO scored their second in the final moments of the first half to make the score 0-2 at HT.
Undeterred and believing they could get something out of this game, the ladies kept battling with Sarah Rodwell playing a huge role in midfield and at set pieces which caused problems for the NMO defence. Some great forward play from Demi Graham and Alex Jones on their wings looked like it would tell, but the ladies couldn't find a way to strike back. NMO were clearly worried and reset their team for a last push, Nicole Connell who was excellent all game, snuffed out many NMO attacks but unfortunately in the last minutes they found a way to get a final goal. All credit to the ladies for a top, top team effort and we'll keep hunting for our first Win!

A Very hot day today but we battled every ball, gave it 110% but unfortunately wasn't our day. Super proud of everyone for putting a shift in!
